DJ AM: Breakup with Hayley Wood Drove Him Back to Drugs

DJ AM, also known as Adam Goldstein, who was found dead in his NYC apartment last night was reportedly so devastated by his breakup with model Hayley Wood that it drove him back to drugs, after he had been sober for 9 years. This is being reported by MTV, TMZ and People.com.

Hayley reportedly only broke up with Adam a few days ago. He didn't want it to end, and for the past few days hadn't been seen by many people. His last public appearance was on Sunday August 23rd at the New York vs. Philadelphia Phillies game, where he threw the first pitch.

Other sources report that since DJ AM had survived that plane crash last year with Travis Barker, he had been under a lot of stress, and it was only made worse by his breakup. TMZ reports that this is what drove him back to drugs and that prescription pill bottles were found near his body.

DJ AM was found dead at about 6pm on Friday night, wearing sweatpants and lying face down. A law enforcement official reportedly told TMZ on the scene that a crack pipe was also found near his body.

His body has been removed from the apartment, and is currently undergoing an autopsy, although no word when the resutls will be released.
