Adam Goldstein, or more widely known as DJ AM, was found in his bed today morning in Manhattan, law enforcement officials announced.

DJ AM was reportedly found dead at around 7 a.m. on the seventh floor of an apartment building at 210 Lafayette Street. At age 36, DJ AM, Nicole Richie's former fiancé, may have died from an apparent drug overdose, according to local media reports, as drug paraphernalia was allegedly found at the scene.

Goldstein hadn't been seen or heard from in several days, and a friend checking on him eventually called police. They broke down the door and found Goldstein's body.

In September 2008, DJ AM and Travis Barker survived a plane crash in South Carolina. Four people died in the crash, and they were the only two survivors.

...the plane veered off the runway and burst into flames, killing Bland, Lemmon, assistant Chris Baker, and security guard Charles Still. Barker and AM survived with severe burns, and Barker sued Global Exec Aviation, Bombardier Inc., and Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. for damages.

On DJ AM's official Twitter account, he left his last word to the world at 2:57 PM Aug 25th - "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."
