Trailer Released for 2011 Doctor Who Christmas Special

Get ready, Doctor Who fans. The trailer for the 2011 Doctor Who Christmas Special (a sci-fi tradition that rivals stockings and carols) is now live, and you can watch it below.

2011's Christmas Special is called "The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe", and we see that the Doctor (Matt Smith) is taking care of a huge, mysterious mansion. A family comes to visit, and then we get into Narnia territory.

Where are Amy Pond and Rory Williams?

No sign of Karen Gillan or Arthur Darvill, but the Christmas Specials tend to be one-offs anyway. After all, Kylie Minogue never went on to become a companion, but I suppose that's mainly because she didn't exactly survive the Yuletide mayhem.

The last season ended with...

[SPOILER ALERT]

the revelation that River Song was Amy Pond's daughter, which makes Amy The Doctor's mother-in-law. Also, The Doctor surviving his own pre-ordained death at the hands of the impossible astronaut (who was River) by hiding in a robot version of himself.

RSC alum David Tennant is the best Doctor of all time. Of all time.
