Dominican Day Parade NYC 2009: Photos and Video
The 27th annual Dominican Day Parade took place today in New York. The parade, which celebrate the city's vibrant Dominican community, made its way up Sixth Avenue, going from 36th Street to 56th Street.
The parade features plenty of music and colorful costumes that originate in the Dominican Republic. Several politicians and local celebrities were on hand for the Dominican Day Parade. Dominican television personality Jochy Santos was among the honored guests.
The event originally was held in Washington Heights, but has since moved downtown as the city's Dominican population grew.

Mayor Bloomberg, as usual, joined the parade, as he mentioned to the press that he had expressed his condolences to the Italian Ambassador for yesterday's loss of five lives.

Just got home from the parade. It was insane! Beautiful girls everywhere, super loud music, and incredible energy! My first Dominican Day Parade, I loved it!
