The Doodle 4 Google now into its 4th year, is open for registration, it is an opportunity for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 to use their creative skills to re-design the Google home page.
At Google, we believe that dreaming about future possibilities leads to tomorrow’s leaders and inventors, so this year we're inviting U.S. kids to exercise their creative imaginations around the theme, "What I’d like to do someday…"
The Doodle 4 Google project traces its routes back to 1998 when Google Co-founders, had the Google logo tweaked to indicate they were attending the Burning Man festival.
A stick figure drawing was placed behind the 2nd "o" in the word, Google and the revised logo was intended as a comical message to Google users that the founders were “out of office.” While the first doodle was relatively simple, the idea of decorating the company logo to celebrate notable events was well received by our users
It began to be tweaked for various special occasions and ultimately, Doodle 4 Google was formalized into a creative competition for students.
