Doris Lessing wins Nobel prize for literature

Doris Lessing, the veteran British novelist has celebrated winning the Nobel prize for literature a few days short of her 88th birthday by declaring on her doorstep: "I've won all the prizes in Europe, every bloody one, so ... it's a royal flush."
