Year Of The Rabbit - Chinese New Year In Dublin, Ireland

YEAR OF THE RABBIT: 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011
Are you a Rabbit person?

People born in the Year of the Rabbit are:
Articulate
Talented
Ambitious.
Virtuous,
Reserved

Rabbit people have excellent taste they are admired, trusted, and are often financially lucky. They are fond of gossip but are tactful and they  seldom lose their temper.

Today I visited  the New Year carnival at Wolfe Tone Park beside the Jervis shopping centre in Dublin. Unfortunately it was ruined by very wet weather. If my memory serves me well the weather was also a problem last year. I would suggest that in future a different venue should be used.

Building on the success of Dublin Chinese New Year Festival (DCNYF) organised a series of events, including the carnival mentioned above,  to celebrate the year of the Rabbit, in the 4709th year of the Chinese calendar. The organizers are keen to celebrate Sino-Irish relations and to promote integration by showcasing Chinese culture and heritage to a new and wider audience.

This year the organizers launched a Chinese Film Festival with the world premier of a great epic "Blood Oath" and it is hoped that this film festival will develop into a strong annual celebration of Chinese film.

They also organized the events listed below:
