Is Eddie Murphy Dead? Uh, No. Don't Believe the Eddie Murphy Death Rumor Making the Rounds

It's been a while since we had a good celebrity death rumor (just ask Jon Bon Jovi). The latest victim of the dreaded online celebrity death hoax: Eddie Murphy.

A few folks on Twitter got the idea that Eddie Murphy died on July 11, 2012.  He did not. As far as anyone can tell, Eddie Murphy is not dead.

The Eddie Murphy death story is a variation of a celebrity hoax that's been going around for years. The story claims that  Murphy died in a snowboarding accident in Switzerland. Just like Jim Carrey, Adam Sandler and countless other stars.

Murphy fell victim to a separate death hoax a few months ago.
