Downtown Los Angeles comes alive on September 27th when Reggae/Dancehall legends Eek-a-mouse and Barrington Levy grace the stage at this year’s showcase.

The One Day festival will be graced with performances from over 30 artists from across the urban music spectrum and will see appearances from HipHop/Rap Guru Rza, Twin steel master DJ Premier, and Dilated Peoples amongst others.

The event will host performances on multiple stage platforms ensuring a full day of live performances, feel good music, and family oriented fun. Children under age 9 will enter free, and the promoters promise a hassle free day for all.

Eek-a-mouse is known within the music industry as a genius. Ludicrous, bizarre, and uniquely original, few Artists have made such a splash in the dancehall scene than Eek-A-Mouse. An artist who in any other country would have been a one-hit wonder, in Jamaica became a household name having invented a whole new vocal style, sing-jay, flooding the airwaves with his catch phrases and going on to become a respected toaster worldwide.

Always a solid voice and a uniquely expressive song style, Barrington is consistently at the forefront of the music scene, and has become the most requested vocalist in reggae music history. In the late 1980's, Barrington Levy began working with veteran producer Jah Screw, and together they created some of reggae's most memorable recordings...

While providing a vastly artistic and intellectually satisfying array of talent at the concert series, The WE THE PEOPLE festival’s primary objective involves reaching out to the myriad of organizations, groups, like-minded promotion firms, and of course artists, in order to conceive the greatest arena in which to engage and then garner participation from a grossly uninformed youth audience, including all other age groups affected by contemporary matters that involve our communities.

The event will begin and 2pm and continue till midnight.
