NP Rank:
The EIGHT drugs Michael Jackson was taking EVERY DAY!
Michael Jackson was taking a devastating cocktail of drugs that should never have been combined with each other in the weeks before his sudden death, it has emerged.
The singer was said to be on not one but three powerful painkillers all at the same time, when more than one is potentially fatal, and was also consuming vast quantities of other pills every day.
It is claimed Jackson, 50, was injected with the powerful painkiller Demerol - a synthetic drug similar to morphine - moments before he collapsed and died from a massive heart attack.
Sources cited by The Sun claim the star was having three of these injections every day but was also taking two other painkillers Dilaudid and Vicodin. None should ever be combined with other drugs.
If this is true its shows that Michael was suffering from depression as well as body pain. Demeral has been limited to its use in at least two countries and has already been associated to one highly recorded death... and associated with the deaths of
- David Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy. The cause of his death in 1984 was ruled a "multiple ingestion" of cocaine, Demerol and Mellaril
- Tammy Wynette, singer. Wynette's daughter Jackie Daly alleged in a 2000 book that Wynette had been "hopelessly addicted" to Demerol, Dilaudid, Versed, and other painkillers prior to her death in 1998.
Pethidine has serious interactions that can be dangerous with MAOIs (e.g., furazolidone, isocarboxazid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). Such patients may suffer agitation, delirium, headache, convulsions, and/or hyperthermia. Fatal interactions have been reported including the death of Libby Zion.[15] It is thought to be caused by an increase in cerebral serotonin concentrations. It is possible that Pethidine can also interact with a number of other medications, including muscle relaxants, some antidepressants, benzodiazepines, and alcohol.
It certainly is not correct to take other drugs when Demeral is prescribed and now we know why the doctor car was seized for investigation. Its ironic as the doctor concern is quoted as being a cardiac specialist, it looks like this guy is going to be in big trouble.

I would not be surprised if this turns out to be true, but I am curious at the first general autopsy report that foul play is not expected. If the said doctor prescribed the drugs surely he can be charged with murder? Because to my way of logic thinking general malpractice is involved and that should be punishable by law?
Is it now the practice of super stars to have a dedicated doctor to prescribe for their additions as seemingly MJ was addicted to some of these drugs he took daily?
I think it was unwise of prescribing such drugs to someone that was suffering from depression and was this depression due to financial pressures and the legal battles over accusations of being a pedophile?
Well as events open out and the full story is known most of my questions will be answered.

It seems as if his doctor should be charged with malpractice.

That would be a cardiac arrest not a heart attack...

I respect your opinion but I really don't think their is any conspiracy to this event there will be many such claims I expect even reports that MJ is still alive, remember when Elvis died all kinds of silly things where suggested. At present we really have to wait for the full autopsy report we can not really trust the media unfortunately. The story in the published seed has yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

It is horrific that Micheal could not get control of his life. Many report that he was a good, committed and kind dad but I believe that the nanny was doing much of the parenting. If he was addicted to addictive and potentially fatal painkillers, was a vegan, slightly anorexic, 50 years old, and also on pills I believe that all of those things together was a recipe for disaster. How much was he really there for his kids if he was drugged up due to constant pain? Given his condition the moment Michael said he didn't feel well or he complained of chest pain he should have been hospitalized. However, if he was in pain all the time perhaps they mistakenly thought that his not feeling well needed Demerol as a solution. Bad, Bad Mistake. If the concert promoters hired a doctor to be with him and he needed a personal trainer to get in shape for the concert perhaps there were serious concerns. while 50 is not old he has been out of the concert loop for a while. I think that the trials, settlement, relocation, relocation and his lack of concern over his money problems finally took its toll. God knows best let Micheal finaly rest. Although he will be missed and his children are without their dad I prefer to have this happen to him at home then for such an incident to occur at a concert venue in front of his fans. An incident like that would have create panic and hysteria. I feel for his family and I know that it will take a very long time for them to heal from this. God Bless,

Any doctor who prescribed Demerol over a long period of time should be investigated for malpractice. It is well known that the main metabolite of Demerol, [the chemical produced when the drug is broken down by the liver], called norpethidine is toxic to the human body, causing severe disturbance to the nervous system. Norpethidine accumulates in the body of anyone taking pethidine regularly until its causes convulsions, muscle spasm & swelling of the brain. These side effects are known to have caused the death of long term pethidine users before, & are well known to the medical profession.
This is why any doctor treating a chronic pain patient, [which by all accounts MJ was], should never prescribe pethidine long term. Any competent doctor would switch such a patient onto a safer drug, such as dihydrocodeine or morphine, whose metabolites are not toxic if they needed pain relief for more than a few days.

My favourite thing about being an American is that no matter how wretched our own lives are... there is always someone we think we are better than!!! Take Michael Jackson and his 'drug useage' which played THE LEADING ROLE in his demise. Do we now add Junkie to his Singer-Songwriter-Dancer-Circus Freak-Child Molester resume?!! I think not.
Elvis Presley WAS A 'Straight up' JUNKIE who deserves our scorn!!! Elvis claimed he had a 'bad back' but there was never any proof of it. Assuming it was true, simply having a bad back wouldn't have justified the tons of powerful drugs Doctor Nick prescribed to him.
Michael Jackson, on the other hand, burned his scalp (thanks, Pepsi), broke his leg, ankel, wrist, ribs and fingers---collateral damage accepted by all professional dancers (ballerinas, Jazz dancers, strippers, acrobats, GoGo dancers, etc.). Michael Jackson had the right to make his pain go away, by any means necessary, and I respect his right (and privacy) to do so.
Who killed Michael Jackson? His inner child did. He didn't have any one around him to say "So you stubbed your toe today? No Dilaudid for you, Mr. Jackson!!!" When you have money, power and fame that MJ had (even though it was in decline), no one will tell you no even if saying no will save your life---what is that old addage "Nothing exceeds like excess!!!" Put in the simplist terms, Michael Jackson is a victim of his own 'Doctor Shopping' for pain meds---MJ had multiple doctors, on premisis, to attend to his every whims---including the run away black doctor who administered the 'coup de vie' shot. My theory is that too many doctors prescribing too many injections 'killed the goose that laid the golden egg'.
We all have to deal with addictions, people and my addiction is to bad puns at inappropriate times. Now whenever I hear the term "King of Pop", I will retort: "Damn skippy he was---just roll up the man's sleeve ("Pop" as in 'Skin Pop' or injection).

so very, very sad yes, I also agree his doctor should be charged with malpractice absolutely!
