Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles Performed by Michael Lynche on American Idol

How did the judges like Michael Lynche's performance of The Beatles' Eleanor Rigby on American Idol?

Well the opinion seemed to be mixed; Simon Cowell said it sounded like something out of a musical, while Randy said that the parts that worked were really great.

"Every song you take on ... there's so many different sides with you, and you handle each one equally well," says Ellen. She loved it.

Kara thought that was "fire." She loved the drama and thinks he sold the story. "You made that song commercial today!"

The audience really seemed to like it and there was a lot of cheering throughout the performace.

Eleanor Rigby Lyrics

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Father McKenzie writing the words of a sermon that no one will hear
No one comes near.
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there
What does he care?

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the lonely people
Ah, look at all the lonely people

Eleanor Rigby died in the church and was buried along with her name
Nobody came
Father McKenzie wiping the dirt from his hands as he walks from the grave
No one was saved

All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?

Michael's performance of Eleanor Rigby was really great, really made it different and added a cool soul style to it. I think this could already be a hit today.
