Electric cars in the US - Would you buy one?

With all the models of Hybrids entering a US market place dominated by
oil companies, it may be a while until we see real affordable electric
vehicles, but perhaps not too far off as we see how much US
manufacturers are struggling.

The NY auto show revealed a lot of
already-in-use or in-testing (in Europe and Asia of course) ELECTRIC
cars from manufacturers all over the world.

The question is,
will we as Americans give up our long-range, high-speed driving for an
electric, or even sub-compact hybrid?  Let's look at the options before
we make that decision:
