Diagnosed with fatal cancer, one time cancer survivor and wife of ex-presidential candidate John Edwards, Elizabeth Edwards, has a new and painful situation to deal with - persistent John Edwards love child rumors from his affair with Rielle Hunter.

After comments made by Elizabeth Edwards on the Oprah show it was revealed that Rielle Hunter hired lawyers to press John Edwards to submit to a paternity test.  The former John Edwards mistress is seeking to involve him in the life of her child France Quinn Hunter just as Elizabeth Edwards cancer battle is coming to the worst possible end.

John Edwards' ex-mistress reportedly is interested in seeking a paternity test for her 1-year-old daughter after Edwards' wife, Elizabeth, sparked fresh questions over whether the father might be her husband.

The former North Carolina senator and presidential candidate denied being the father of Frances Quinn Hunter during a TV interview in August. But Elizabeth Edwards, in an interview on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" that aired Thursday afternoon, didn't sound so sure.

"I've seen a picture of the baby," she said. "I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children, but I don't have any idea."

On Wednesday, one day after Oprah's production company released excerpts of the interview, The National Enquirer reported that Rielle Hunter, John Edwards' former mistress, is working with a lawyer to seek a paternity test from him.

Thanks for this Tina. I watched some of the interview and found this (among others) statement very interesting, " It doesn't look like my children, but I don't have any idea."  [emphasis mine].

Nevertheless, the whole affair is very tragic.
