Ellen DeGeneres to Join the Judges of American Idol

Ellen DeGeneres announced tonight that she will be joining the judges of American Idol for their ninth season, which starts January 2010.
She will join Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, and Kara DioGuardi after Paula Abdul left the program last month.
Ellen will join after the auditions part of the show, which are taking place now.
“I’m thrilled to be the new judge on American Idol,” Ms. DeGeneres said in a statement. “I’ve watched since the beginning, and I’ve always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I’ll save from not having to text in my vote.”

I did not like Degeneres much before, but she can be really witty, and this show is exhausting itself, so they need someone to wake them up for sure.
