Viewers of Ellen Degeneres' talk show saw a marriage proposal go wrong and some wonder if the whole thing was staged. During a recent episode of Ellen, a male audience member got on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend.

The Ellen marriage proposal went something like this: Ellen reads a letter from a man named Jacob who wants to propose to girlfriend Jody on national TV. The camera shows Jody looking on in disbelief as Jacob comes out and pops the question.

Jody starts crying and says, "I can't. I'm sorry." Strangely, the crowd starts cheering and music plays.

We don't know what to make of the Ellen marriage proposal video. Sports blogger Spencer Hall thinks the video is fake. Many folks on Twitter tend to agree.
