Elton John Hospitalized For Treatment Of E. coli And Flu

Elton John has been hospitalized with the flu and a case of E. coli bacterial infection. His upcoming shows in the US, England, and Ireland have all been canceled until further notice. Elton John will hopefully return to the "Face2Face" tour later this month after recovering.

Farrow said 62-year-old John is suffering from a "bad case of the flu and a minor case of E. coli." His Web site says he was advised by his doctor to postpone dates in Seattle and Portland.

Elton John has already had to cancel shows in London, Liverpool, Sheffield, New Castle, and most recently Dublin as of last week. John has been ordered to rest since suffering from flu-like symptoms. His spokesperson assures fans that he will be back on tour as soon as possibole:

Monday morning, John's spokesman Gary Farrow told Reuters that, despite the hospitalization, Sir Elton, 62, was "absolutely fine" and hoped to return to entertaining soon.
