Emilio Masella on Snooki Pregnancy: 'I Hope She Miscarries'
Emilio Masella Has No Faith in Snooki's Parenting Skills
Emilio Masella took the commentary around Snooki's pregnancy to a new low. Emilio told TMZ, "I hope for her sake, not to be rude or anything, but I hope she has a miscarriage."
Not to be rude or anything? So Emilio doesn't want to be rude when he tells TMZ that he wishes that Snooki's unborn baby dies inside of her? This may sound redundant when talking about people associated with Jersey Shore, but... what a douchebag.
Emilio Masella (Snooki's ex-boyfriend and self-described "swagologist") is trying to defend himself on Twitter, but it doesn't seem to be going too well.
Emilio Masella said that Snooki has no grasp of the responsibility involved in parenthood. Based on Snooki's public persona, he has a point, but this is not the way to make it.
Emilio later apologized for his choice of words. We're still not convinced that he quite understands what a miscarriage is.
What is the Miscarriage Rate in America?
The miscarriage rate in the United States is higher than you may think: up to 20% of pregnancies among women who know that they are pregnant suffer a miscarriage.
Miscarriages that occur in the very early weeks of pregnancy, before the woman knows she is pregnant, would drive that number higher, but it is harder to measure: up to half of all fertilized eggs will spontaneously abort.
This is what makes Emilio Masella's comment so ignorant and mean. 20% is a really high rate. If someone told you that you had a 20% chance of winning the lottery, you'd buy a ticket.
Snooki is only 24 years old, and is therefore in the lowest-risk age group for miscarriage.

Wow, those comments are best kept to yourself regardless of who you are or what you do a child is a child. To wish bad luck on someone is not something to be taken lightly because if bad things happen the person who said it is to blame.

I don't even know who these celebrity people are, or why I should particularly care about them...but when I randomly read this Snooki person's comments about how important it is that she gain no more than 15 pounds during her pregnancy-WHICH IS A HUGE HEALTH RISK TO HER CHILD!-I had the same kind of thoughts...rude or not-this woman has no business being a mother! And I'm really not judgmental about imperfect women having babies in imperfect situations. What matters is that you put your child's health and well-being over such inconsequential and unhealthy things as being obsessed w/ a "perfect" body image!! She probably won't breastfeed much either, because having perky boobs is more important than giving her child a healthy start in life. So sick. :(
