This Emotional Life, a new show focusing on the science behind happiness, is premiering on the PBS network tonight. Produced by the creators of the famous NOVA programming, this three-part series is supposed to explore how people are improving their social relationships, learning to cope with depression and becoming more resilient.

As part of the show, Daniel Gilbert, a famous psychologist, investigates emotional issues that people face and explores ways of finding support. He will talk to ordinary people and tell their everyday stories backed by the latest scientific research.

Of course, a show about emotions and meltdowns could not possibly do without some insight from the Hollywood demographics -- This Emotional Life will feature testimony from celebrities like Richard Gere and Robert Kennedy Jr.

The timing of the show is interesting -- not only is now the period of time when most people return to work after the Holiday season that gets rather financially and mentally exhausting for many people, but it is also right about time when many people start suffering from a seasonal affective disorder, or SAD, which kicks in during winter time and causes depressive symptoms in people with otherwise normal state of mental health. Of course, the recovering economy is still causing many people the extra nerves.
