Ending Anti-Gay Bias: Michigan ad says too dangerous
A Kalamazoo, Michigan group is running an ad which tells voters to 'Vote No' to an anti-discrimination ballot regarding a new city ordinance which would end bias against gays in employment and housing.
The ad, which is being hung on residents' doorknobs, shows a man entering the women's restroom: Apparently, if one votes 'Yes', this will be the outcome. (See photo at left)
Kalamazoo, Michigan is in the middle of a battle over a city human rights ordinance that would forbid discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations against LGBT people. As usual, the anti-gay bigots are engaged in dishonest fear mongering. Here's a picture of a door hanger they are putting out all around the city. See if you can spot the frame:OMG! If you can't fire someone for being gay, next thing you know men will be raping your daughters in public bathrooms! Right. Because that's such a rampant problem in the hundreds of communities that have similar human rights ordinances, isn't it? Oh wait, it isn't.
I think they should have gone all the way and just made the guy in the picture black too. Or Arab. It's not as if they're being overly subtle as it is.

This is so totaly backwards. If they are gay, they prefer men -- right? Then WHY would they be the leastb interested in going into womaens bathrooms to rape young women. Shows how completely ignorant these fear mongers are. Ignorance is what keeps this whole fear thing going.
