EPL 2012-13: Aston Villa vs Manchester City Match Live Streaming
Captain Ron Vlaar will return to Aston Villa's backline for their Premier League encounter with Manchester City at Villa Park tonight. Dutchman Vlaar was absent from Villa's 2-1 defeat at the Emirates Stadium with a calf injury, but manager Paul Lambert will be boosted by his return to playing duty as they attempt to haul themselves out of the relegation zone.
Shay Given has recovered from a groin injury but will not replace American goalkeeper Brad Guzan and will have to settle for a spot on the bench, while England striker Darren Bent is doubtful with a foot problem.
Premier League champions Manchester City will again be without their captain Vincent Kompany, who has yet to overcome calf problems. Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic are expected to start in the centre of defence for Roberto Mancini's side.
Gareth Barry, who has missed City's previous two matches with an ankle injury, is fit to return to the ground where he played for over a decade.
Aston Villa come into the game on the back of an important victory over West Ham. That result was a first win in six for Paul Lambert’s men and they know they are up against it tonight. Villa are currently in 18th place and sit inside the relegation places on goal difference. A point on Monday would see them go above Wigan in 17th.
Manchester City beat an inconsistent Chelsea side 2-0 at the Etihad last weekend and know that a win is vital if they are to stand any chance of catching runaway league leaders Manchester United. After United’s 4-0 drubbing of Norwich on Saturday, Roberto Mancini knows that the Premier League title is slipping away. Manchester City’s away form has been suspect at best in their last five games, failing to win at Southampton, QPR and Sunderland. They are under pressure to perform on Monday night.
