West Ham boss Sam Alardyce believes Tottenham are overly dependent on Welsh winger Gareth Bale, who has been playng in an advanced position lately, ahead of Monday's clash at Upton Park.

The Welsh winger has been on target for Spurs in their last three Premier League games and has 17 goals this season. Injuries to Jermaine Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor yet to hit top form, Spurs will rely on Bale to secure a place in the Champions League.

Manager Andre Villas-Boas would certainly love to look down upon former club Chelsea, and would be glad of the momentum going into Sunday's north London derby at home to Arsenal.

West Ham are still only six points above the drop zone, and may struggle to reverse their recent poor form, with matches against Chelsea, Stoke and Manchester City coming up next.
