The second leg of the Round of 32 ties in the Europa League take place this Thursday, with Hannover looking to overturn a 3-1 defeat from the first leg in Russia when they host Anzhi Makhachkala, the super-rich additions to the competition this season.

Hannover's home form in Europe this season is strong, having played five games, winning four and drawing one but with no defeats. Of course this will be their toughest test yet, though they have won convincingly throughout the competition at home this season. 

They beat St Patrick's 2-0 and Slask Wroclaw 5-1 in the first rounds before beating Helsingborg and Levante both in the group stage. Levante finished on point behind Hannover in the group stage but Hannover managed to beat them in their hardest home European game so far this season 2-1, as well as a 3-2 win over Helsingborgs and a 0-0 draw with Twente. 

Hannover are currently 8th in the 18-team Bundesliga in Germany and have won six times out of 11 at home domestically, losing just twice out of 11 all season in the league. 

They aren't in great form however, having won only two in seven, losing four of their last seven games - though they were all away defeats. Their last three home games have seen them win, against Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen, all by one-goal margins.
