On the rare chance that none of you remember the seminal 1987 film, it starred Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, Andrew McCarthy, and Jami Gertz as a bunch of drug-addicted burgeoning yuppies living their twisted lives in the Hollywood Hills. And according to B.E.E., its sequel is set in the present day and will revolve not only around how this crew of ne'er-do-wells survived the eighties, but what they're up to today.

It is almost redundant for Bret Easton Ellis to even publish books; it seems that he wants to write scripts for film but hasn't yet figured out how. With gems like 'American Psycho' and 'Rules of Attraction' under his belt however, the sequel to 'Less Than Zero', titled 'Imperial Bedrooms' and due to hit stores May 2010, should prove an entertaining romp onscreen.

Not to mention that watching a much less drug-hazed Robert Downey Jr reprise the role of a character who seemed to and should have (by all laws of science) died in that last installment almost guarantees a good time.

Ah yes, more tales of angsty yuppies and their substance-fueled, self-destructive lives. A good time indeed.

I haven't seen the first one actually, but who is 'Jami Gertz'?

Interesting indeed... however, the much-anticipated sequel to Trainspotting met with tepid reviews at best.

File this one under "who cares".  Seminal?  I think not!
