Paulo Serodio probably
didn’t expect much of a reaction when he
identified himself as an
African-American during a cultural
exchange at his New Jersey Medical
School. However, his white skin
apparently disqualifies him from calling
himself such. Serodio is a 45 year old
white male who was born, and lived, in
Mozambique–in Africa.

The student in question is now suing the New Jersey medical school, saying he was harassed and suspended for defining himself as a white African-American.
I can not blame him for doing so and wish him good luck, since he may have been the only real African-American present.

White Africans are the white population of Africa. These individuals are mostly of Dutch,British, French, Portuguese, and to a lesser extent Italian, Greek, Belgian, Swiss,Spanish, Irish, and German ancestry. Prior to the decolonization movements of the post-World War II era, Whites numbered up to 10 million persons and were represented in every part of Africa. However, some left during and after the indigenous independence movements especially the French and Spanish of Algeria. Nevertheless, White Africans remain an important minority in many African states, for example, 6% of the population in Namibia. The African country with the largest White African population is South Africa, at approximately 5.2 million (11% of the population). Although Whites no longer rule various African nations, many have remained as Citizen and often hold a substantial ownership of the economy and land in specific regions or countries. This is mainly true in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. More over in North Africa as well as West and East or Central Africa there are no real differences in ownership of land. Many North African ethnic groups, such as Arabs and Berbers, as well as the Tuaregs can be or are also considered White African under some definitions. At most about 2% of Africa's population, or 12.3 million out of 922 million, is white. However that number is being disputed since Algerian, Moroccan, Libyan, Tunisian, Egyptian and some Ethiopian conceder them self as white and are called White African as well.Wish would put the total White population of Africa at 230 million out of 922 million.

Africa is the World second largest Continent after Asia and counts 53 Countries among those are South Africa being one of the best known internationally due to extensive news coverage.
However South Africa is rather unique in Africa, due to its history and former Apartheid system wish did not exist in any other African country.
Libya, Egypt and Kenya are also fairly well know as well as Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Sudan, Ethiopia and Uganda.
With a billion people (as of 2009, see table) in 61 territories, it accounts for about 14.8% of the World's human population.
The continent is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Suez Canal and the Red Sea to the Northeast, the Indian Ocean to the Southeast, and the Atlantic Ocean to the west. Not counting the disputed territory of Western Sahara, Madagascar being part of Africa and various island groups, associated with the continent.
Africa, particularly central eastern Africa, is widely regarded within the scientific community to be the origin of humans and the Hominidae tree (great apes), as evidenced by the discovery of the earliest hominids and their ancestors, as well as later ones that have been dated to around seven million years ago – including Sahelanthropus tchadensis,Australopithecus africanus, A. afarensis, Homo erectus, H. habilis and H. ergaster – with the earliest Homo sapiens (human) found in Ethiopia being dated to ca. 200,000 years ago.
Although it has abundant natural resources, Africa remains the world's poorest and most underdeveloped continent, due to a variety of causes that may include the spread of deadly diseases and viruses (notably HIV/AIDS and malaria), corrupt governments that have often committed serious human rights violations, failed central planning, high levels of illiteracy, lack of access to foreign capital, and frequent tribal and military conflict (ranging from guerrilla warfare to genocide)According to the United Nations' Human Development Report in 2003, the bottom 25 ranked nations (151st to 175th) were all African.
