Facebook down?! August 19, a day without pokes? OMFG. Let me check... Nope, it works fine for me.
I felt compelled to check, you understand, since people are reporting that Facebook is down. But it's not, at least not where I am.
Let me just return some of these pokes. And fill out a few of these lame quizzes. What endangered species am I? Also, I'd best update my status with something devastatingly witty. This may take a few moments.
Oh, and Twitter is still up, too.

We've noticed a huge spike in Facebook trouble reports this morning over at http://downrightnow.com/facebook. downrightnow aggregates user reports on Twitter and official announcements to monitor the status of web services like Facebook. If you're having trouble today, you can report an issue at downrightnow.com and we'll help spread the word.

There are MANY servers for Facebook.com all across the country. Just to let you know that if some servers are down, some parts of the country might not be able to connect to Facebook.com. So you trying to be funny and prove people wrong just completely failed. Genius.
I live near Chicago, Illinois and I cannot connect. Therefor the servers in the Midwest and other servers might be overloaded/hacked/being updated/or a range of 1000 different things.

Facebook only has two server locations, east and west coast, or so they've stated. Not "many" locations around the country/world.

I find that, not only do outage reports vary per CDN server, but core functionality varies as well! Sometimes I can't add comments to statuses, whereas my friends in other regions can.
