The new trailer for what's been dubbed as 'The Facebook Movie' has all the elements of the average Hollywood teaser trailer: dramatic background music, intense dialogue segments, and the thought-provoking taglines that are in between. The movie about Facebook is getting serious attention and Mark Zuckerberg is in the spotlight.

Directed by David Fincher (Fight Club), The Social Network is partly based on Ben Mezrich's book, The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook: A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal.

The film will explore how the world's most popular social networking website was founded and the resulting controversy that ensued from then on.

The movie will hit theatres in October 2010, featuring a diverse cast including, singer Justin Timberlake, Zombieland star Jesse Eisenberg, and Jurassic Park's grown up, Joseph Mazzello.

As the image slowly pans out into focus, the image of Mark Zuckerberg, played by Jessie Eisenberg, becomes evident toward the end of the teaser. The founder of Facebook has seen his share of controversies; not just for Facebook's recent privacy violations, but also for his falling-out with friend and Facebook co-founder, Eduardo Saverin, in 2004.

The great irony is that while Facebook succeeded by bringing people together, its very success tore two best friends apart.

Below is the teaser for The Social Network.
