Fairytales is more than just a bookstore for kids. It’s a fun place for the whole family. The owner/president Tammy Derr and her husband John, a strong supporter by her side, have dreamed of this day for eight years now. Since the day her daughter, Katie, was born, she wanted a place for all the kids in the neighborhood to hang out, a place where they can use their imaginations, and stay out of trouble. Fairytales was born. From story time to arts and crafts Fairytales has it all. A place for parents to shop for, and play along with their young ones. For ages 0-101, this store makes you feel welcome. A great place to enjoy, and even re-visit, your childhood. Soon Fairytales will have events for holidays, birthdays, and even book readings with signings. Tammy also talks about her plans in the near future of hosting field trips for area schools.
From the moment you enter, you can see Fairytales is completely about the family. From the brightly colored walls that bring warmth and happiness to the main room, all the way down to a tranquil parents room in the back. Fairytales will also be hosting classes for adults as well, while the children are creating safely in the next room.
