Fake Stevie Wonder Twitter Account Makes Fun of His Blindness

I don't ususally write opinion pieces but I came across what must be a fake Twitter account that someone has made for Stevie Wonder, and I think it is in very poor taste indeed as it makes fun of his blindness.

Stevie Wonder has been blind since birth and maybe he would find something like this amusing, but I can't say I really do. Although the account has over 5,000 followers, so many must think it is.

Wow indeed!

I guess it would depend on how tasteless the jokes were but, who knows? Stevie might have found them amusing.

He's been poking fun at his blindness forever, even shooting a video with him behind the wheel of a car.

My favorite send up is from years back on Saturday Night Live.

There used to be a camera that had as it's slogan something about it being so easy, so and so could use it.

The spoof first featured Stevie taking pictures of someone playing tennis. His shots were of everything BUT the player and the action.

Next, he took the racket while someone photographed him. He didn't hit one ball.

I agree, I think it's in very poor taste. It really doesn't matter if Stevie found it amusing or not...regardless of that fact, making fun of someone's life-altering condition is never something to joke about. Honestly, the only person who can joke about something like that is the person that has the condition. It really shocks me how inconsiderate this is. Also, again, regardless of how inconsiderate this is, it's also not very funny....

I'm sorry but I just want to point out here that anyone that's blind can't actually see this article or the tweets being posted by the fake Stevie Wonder. Also, the account had five thousand followers. If Twitter was a government, they totally just pulled a China.

i would also like to point out that the statement of 'life-altering condition' is totally wrong. He was born blind, to him that is what is normal for him. He doesnt know better than being blind, so his blindness can in no way be 'life altering'. I do not feel sorry for him being blind, because to him it is not a handicap, to him it is probably just how he is and he had no problems with it. just like the people i know born with handicaps.I must say that a friend sent me the twitter page and I thought it was amusing. I also think Stevie himself would see the humour of it. ...no pun intended.

I found it very amusing. As long as we all make fun of each other it's all good.

Hahahahahaha, anyone that can't have at least a fuckin' giggle at that is a complete goon. I guarantee you that Stevie himself would fuckin' smile from ear-to-ear if he heard about this : )
