Farrah Fawcett Dies of Cancer at Age 62 
Farrah Fawcett has died of cancer at the age of 62 in hospital at 9:28 a.m PST.
Ryan O'Neal has released a statement on her passing:
After a long and brave battle with cancer, our beloved Farrah has passed away. Although this is an extremely difficult time for her family and friends, we take comfort in the beautiful times that we shared with Farrah over the years and the knowledge that her life brought joy to so many people around the world."

She had been suffering with anal and liver cancer for some time and she succumbed to the disease today.
She passed away at the St. John's Health Centre in L.A.
Her friends and family, including her long-term love Ryan O'Neal had gathered at her bedside last night, saying their final goodbyes and a priest had been called in to issue her last rites. She had also been moved into the intensive care unit of the hospital. Her son, Redmond O'Neal was not present however as he is serving a prison term for drug offenses.
Farrah was most famous for her role in the TV series Charlie's Angels and fans copied her blond hairstyle all across the world. She was nominated for a number of Golden Globe and Emmy awards, but never won any of them. In 1995 she did receive a star on the Walk of Fame however.
Ryan O'Neal had asked Farrah to marry him in a deathbed wedding, but that sadly never took place.
In an interview set to air Friday night on ABC's 20/20, Ryan tells host Barbara Walters that he has asked Farrah to be his wife and she had agreed. The two have been together off and on since 1982 and are parents to Redmond, though they never walked down the aisle together.
Farrah Fawcett had been suffering with cancer since 2006, and in February 2007 she was deemed to be cancer free. However, a new tumor appeared in May 2007 and she had been battling that ever since.
Her battle with cancer was told in a documentary called 'Farrah's Story', which first aired May 15, 2009 on NBC. In it she spoke of how hard life had become since she was diagnosed with cancer, and how much the disease affects your life. Farrah shot the film herself, along with help from her best friend Alana Stewart.

Her various antics in Mind, have always felt some level of affinity with Farrah over the years.. It was through both Silk Hope and The Burning Bed in later years, though, that she eventually garnered a permanent, special place of understanding in my Heart..
Today I feel somehow more suddenly mortal than ever before, perhaps because she has always played such a lively, high-profile part of my generation's culture.. What needs accomplished in that which is left of Life to these Fingertips has become just that much more precious and pressured than previous in light of Farrah's own untimely passing..

While it is sad, at least she is pain free. For such a beautiful and affluent lady, her life read like a tragedy. Yet, her smile never faltered. Yes, Farrah will be missed by more than family and friends.
