Farrah's Story, a "dying documentary" detailing Farrah Fawcett's 3 year cancer battle, will air Friday, May 15, 2009 on NBC and it is sure to be a tear-jerker.  In an interview with the Today co-host Meredith Vieira, Ryan O'Neal, Farrah Fawcett's long time love, recounted the past year of her life, saying in no uncertain terms how hard cancer has been on the former Charlie's Angels star.

"I think she may have believed that she would survive," says O'Neal, 68. "That's not how it's going. She's had a terrible time in the last year, a terrible time."

On Friday, NBC will air Farrah's Story, a two-hour documentary that Fawcett, 62, herself began filming when her initial diagnosis was revealed Sept. 22, 2006. In scenes from it shown on Wednesday's Today show, the glamorous Fawcett of golden mane and perky frame was juxtaposed with footage of her being sick to her stomach in a hospital bed.

At one point she can be heard saying, "I wish it would just be over."

Farrah's Story - Farrah Fawcett Charlie's Angels

On the issue of Redmond O'Neal, Ryan O'Neal's son with Farrah Fawcett who is currently in jail on drug related charges, the senior O'Neal shared a touching memory of mother-son bonding.  Farrah Fawcett struggled with a heavy round of chemotherapy in which she lost all of her hair.  Her son Redmond reached out to his mother and showed his support by shaving his own head.

"When she lost her hair [to chemotherapy], he shaved his head," says O'Neal. "So, the two of them … I didn't know which was which."

Of their possibly final meeting in her bedroom, for which Redmond's jail shackles had to be unlocked, O'Neal says, "He just wanted to see her, to hold her, to apologize. He's so full of shame for his mistakes. She forgave him."

Farrah's Story airs for the first time on NBC this Friday.  The footage was shot by Farrah Fawcett herself with help from her lifelong best friend Alana Stewart.  Farrah Fawcett worked hard to see the documentary air before her death and she feels that her story can help other people dealing with cancer. Ryan O'Neal says that the May 15, 2009 airing of the Farrah's Story cancer documentary is important to Farrah as she faces dying from her own cancer.

"She stays in bed now," he said. "The doctors see she is comfortable. The treatment is pretty much ended."

Fawcett has lost her famous mane of blonde hair, he added.

"It's a love story," said O'Neal, 68, who played opposite Ali McGraw's terminally ill character in the 1970 film Love Story. "I just don't know how to play this one. I won't know this world without her."

Learn about a growing controversy: A lawsuite has been launched against Ryan O'Neal and Alana Stewart over the Farrah Fawcett documentary Farrah's Story.

God love her and all who suffer as she does now.Cancer really does take its toll not only on the victims of  the illness but also Family and friends seeing the brutal pain and deteriation of those who really do suffer.Sometimes it can be so long drawn out that one just wishes the victim a quick death.

As a 6 year, 3 month colon cancer survivor. I can share Farrah's pain.  Following a dismal outlook, I felt compelled to research credible ways to combat cancer.  It worked for me & some friends.

One friend had colorectal cancer & is doing fine. The 2nd had stage 4 pancreatic cancer that spread to his liver.  When he received this news last October, he took a quantum leap from conventional to alternative therapy. His oncologist told him he had up to 1 year to live w/ chemo & no more than 4 months w/o chemo. Yesterday, May 15th, 09, he played 18 holes of golf, feels vibrant, travels &  looks great.  His loved ones are truly amazed.

You might google (budwig diet) & read about this brilliant German scientist & her protocol w/ so many testimonials.  You might also google (johanna budwig revisited) & read about a court case against her in Germany when she attacked the cancer industry. The judge, after reviewing the evidence from both sides pulled the cancer research people aside and told them not to take on this woman.  The court records quote the presiding judge:  "Doctor Budwig's documents and papers are conclusive.  There would be a scandal in the scientific worlds. because the public would certainly support Doctor Budwig".

The article continues -Do you understand the import of this?  This woman had a documented method for healing cancer and the medical community did not.  They could kill cancer cells, but they couldn't cure it.  Budwig could help heal cancer by diet alone.

One researcher said in the budwig diet - flaxseed oil & cottage cheese:  "In my research, Dr. Johanna Budwig'sa name has been referred to on many occasions.  ......I was not willing to take the time to investigate this protocol.  It did not make sense to me how it could possible work.  THAT WAS A BIG MISTAKE.  If you are researching websites for a loved one, family member, or a friend who is suffering from a terminal or chronic disase this is one of the most important pieces of information I have come across during thousands of hours of research.  Please take time to read this carefullyas this can be a life saving protocol."

My deepest condolences to Farrah Faucett, Ryan Oneil,& family.

This is really so sad.  Farrah's spirit will live on though, especially to be remembered by her saying how lucky she has been in her lifetime, even in the face of doom.

My thoughts and prayers goes out to farrah and anyone else out there going through what she has.  My mother has terminal cancer and it fighting each day to see another and when i watched her documentary i cried and prayed and cried some more. It reminds me so much of what my mother has been going through... and still is.  I am grateful that she shows how strong someone can be while fighting for their life.  It is such a struggle, but I am so happy that she made that documentary so it will maybe make some people fight just as hard as her. My heart goes out to her and her family.... I hated to see the pain and sickness she has gone through.  I hope that she and my mother could just be pain-free and it all just go away.  Keep on fighting, girl!!!!!

If you missed this documentary last week, you can catch it here at MSNBC.

It's well worth watching, but be forewarned, it can get quite emotional, especially if one has experienced terminal cancer within their own family.
