Stars from all different areas of entertainment attended the 2011 MET Costume Institute Gala Benefit, held at the annual Metropolitan Museum of Art Ball in New York City. The theme of last night's (May 2) event was titled "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" as a tribute to the late, great clothing designer and trendsetter. The shindig was literally a who's who of stars, with names like Sarah Jessica Parker, Emma Stone, Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce Knowles, and Gisele Bundchen all in attendance.

As they graced the red carpet, celebs gave photographers a preview of possible spring trends with gowns and dresses that contained a lot of nude and red shades.

The following is a run-down of the fashionable stars spotted at last night's MET Gala Benefit, along with a description of what they wore.

Looking every bit the portrait of perfection, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr stepped out together for the big event, the Victoria's secret model channeling her inner ballerina in a stunning white strapless tulle and lace Marchesa gown. She finished off the look with Nicholas Kirkwood ivory lacy platform heels.

Another stunning vision at last night's MET Costume Benefit was Chanel cover girl Blake Lively, who wore a sari-style gown by the designer complimented by a nude, sequined bodice. The 23-year-old actress looked absolutely ravishing, as she's still sporting the strawberry blonde locks that she debuted at Time's 100 Gala on April 26th.

On the other hand, Blake's "Gossip Girl" co-star went for a completely different look. Leighton Meester sported a black strapless cutout dress by Louis Vuitton and wore her hair in a sleek ponytail.

Actress and fashion superstar Diane Kruger wore an embellished nude-and-black Jason Wu dress that featured a thigh-high slit, omg! news reported. She complimented her sexy outfit with a Jimmy Choo bag and Van Cleef & Arpels jewels.

Kristen Stewart arrived wearing a floor-length gown by Proenza Schouler which was dark red in color and adorned by black circular patterns. Her "Twilight" co-star Ashley Greene also showed up in style, choosing a nude, sequin-covered gown by Donna Karan as her winning number for the Benefit.

Representing the "Glee" cast were actresses Lea Michele and Dianna Agron, who both played it safe in gorgeous red gowns. Michele went strapless in J. Escada while her co-star chose a more modern halter-style.

A regular hit for her fashion choices, expectant mom Jessica Alba absolutely glowed in a shimmery floor-length gown from the Ralph Lauren Collection. Alba also scored extra points for her gold headpiece, since the accessories group is rumored to be a big trend for Spring.

Among the music stars that came out, an always-elegant Taylor Swift went for a bolder-than-usual look with her one-shoulder gown by J. Mendel. Wrapped around the songstress' slim frame, the nude dress was given an edge with pieces of sheer black fabric. Meanwhile Hip-Hop/R&B songstress Rihanna remained true to her style in a sheer, one-sleeved black Stella McCartney dress which she paired with a long red braid.

And as one of the last celebrity attendees to arrive at the event, actress Penelope Cruz proved to be a big hit on the red carpet.

Accompanied by and dressed in Oscar de la Renta, the new mom looked ravishing in a timeless black ruffled gown, diamond accessories and a black feathered clutch.
