Fat cat survives 19 days with jar stuck on head
Best headline ever. It would be even funnier if the fat cat in question were a politician, but unfortunately not.
BARTLETT, Tenn. - Tabitha Cain has fed a feral cat she calls Wild Oats for several years, but now she's thinking of changing the feline's name to Survivor. That's because she says the cat survived for 19 days with a peanut butter jar stuck on its head.
"We tried to get her, but being the type of cat you can't catch, she kept running and hiding," said Doretha Cain, Tabitha's mother.
The family saw the cat several times with the jar on its head and tried in vain to catch it. But after not seeing the cat for a week, the Cains feared the worst.
"I thought she was going to die with that jar on her head," said Tabitha Cain, 25.
They found the once chubby cat Wednesday, too thin and weak to flee. They caught her with a fishing net and used some oil to get the jar off her head.
They gave her water and treated her wounds and Friday she began to eat again.
"I've heard of cats having nine lives but I think this one has 19 because she survived 19 days," Doretha Cain said.
Memphis veterinarian Gerald Blackburn said he's heard similar stories of pets getting trapped for days or even weeks at a time and surviving. Blackburn said the cat may have lived off of its excess fat.

When ever you walk up to my cat, he rolls over and wants his stomach scratched. He thinks he's a dog. He weighs so much you have to pick him up with two hands.

While this little (or not so little) feline has never had a peanut butter jar stuck on his head, he has however gotten himself into some pretty tight situations. Not a day goes by when he's not crammed into a box, or behind a T.V. or even inside an empty computer box!
I just await for the day when he gets into a situation and can't get out, of course, causing no harm to himself or others.
For now he's just happy being a curious cat and loving having his photo taken.

Siamese-Mix loves wearing the carcasses of deceased Rock Lobsters.
Well really this is just Tucker in some Halloween attire following several chunks of turkey as bait. It is the only time he wears anything other than his own fur and it is the only time of year he gets turkey...so I think you can understand his willingness to cooperate in light of the correlation of lobster to turkey. ;p
