Sweet! This is awesome. Thanks, MR.

Mariachi music is great stuff. We have a group here that routinely performs at a Mexicano restaurant.

The history of women mariachi groups is rich and long. The earliest promoted ones date back to the 1940's and 1950's.

One of the most well-known group is a family thing--the seven Perez sisters of Los Morenos de Mexico Lindo

Good mariachi performances are fun, fun, fun. And then there's the incredible Juanita Ulloa, who sings with either mariachi bands or symphony orchestras around the world. She's someone who has elevated this great music from the streets to symphony halls around the world.

Yea, yea, I'm such a fangirl for mariachi! First fell in love with it in historic Ybor City in Tampa, FL.

Bring on the sound clips, MR!

MexicoReporter

Thanks for that Pep - did you watch the video linked from the story? All the sound you can get should be in there. And thanks for all the background - writing a feature for The News here in Mexico about them.....

PEP

I'll have to use another computer to hear the sound--this one, darn it, is still not working right. Re: background, it adds so much to a story,doesn't it? Maybe we should have  joint byline.    ;}

Cheers!
