I don't know if this is encouraging news for Music...or if Music might be just a little bit sad to read this.

Apple has announced the best-selling singles and albums in the iTunes music store, revealing that the most-purchased song for 2007 was Fergie's "Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)." People who frequent the iTunes music store appear to like Fergie more than any other artist; she's the only one with two entries in the top ten:

1. Fergie - "Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)

2. Kanye West - "Stronger"

3 - Soulja Boy Tell 'Em - "Crank That (Soulja Boy)"

4 - Plain White Ts - "Hey There Delilah

5 - Gwen Stefani - "The Sweet Escape"

6 - Rihanna - "Umbrella (feat. Jay-Z)"

7 - Fergie - "Glamorous"

8 - Maroon 5 - "Makes Me Wonder"

9 - Timbaland - "The Way I Are (feat. One Republic)"

10 - Akon - "Don't Matter"

You can view the full list in iTunes (iTunes link), where an album containing the top 100 songs of 2007 is available for $99. A similar compilation of editors' choice singles (iTunes link) is also available.
