Ferris Bueller's Day Off House For Sale: Ferrari Not Included
The house featured in Ferris Bueller's Day Off is up for sale. The 5,300 sq. ft has been listed at a price of $2.3 million.
Located in the post Highland Park area outside Chicago, the house was used as the home of Cameron Frye, Ferris Bueller's best friend. The house is best known for a steel-and-glass garage that hangs over a ravine. In a famous scene that pains any fan of classic cars, Cameron kicks his dad's cherry red 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California with the motor running, and the car drives out of the garage and into the ravine below (The car, by the way, is worth more than the house. A 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California was auctioned off in 2008 for more than $10 million US)
According to the listing, the house was built by well known architects A. James Speyer and David Haid. You can view the Ferris Bueller House listing here.
