Festival for children to kick off in town

A "Family and Children Festival 2008" for children and teenagers organized by the HCMC Department of Culture and Information, the Committee for Population, Family and Children, the Municipal Youth Union and the Association of Women Unions will take place in the 23/9 Park from today until Sunday.

In the festival, a music night titled "Lighting the family fire", a painting and photo exhibition themed "Children and Family" and showcasing prize-winning paintings in the contest "Green Brush" will be organized.

Especially, in the opening day, a collective painting with the length of 148 meters will be painted by 1,000 children in HCMC for display in the festival.

A book-sale area introducing new books and cultural products for children and a game area featuring folk games, sporty games and team games will be set up in the park. Visitors coming to the festival will also enjoy a buffet program of Vietnamese dishes and ice cream and sweet cakes with promotional prices at the food area of the festival.
