I've worked on presidential campaigns - starting with McGovern in 1972 - and voted in every election since I was turned 18 and I'm now 53. President-elect Obama was the first candidate I ever genuinely admired - and liked - as both a person and a talented, intelligent leader. I wanted to reach out and offer him something in my online persona as "QuoterGal" - but from my heart as "Karen." I know that he admired Saul Alinsky, and I hope I found a quote that will help him a little in the coming difficult years. I also wanted to say that many of us recognize that the tasks do not rest on his shoulders alone, and that folks want to be able to help and participate in the challenge of the next few years.
