Let me cut to the chase. Precious is the best movie of the year. It tells the story of a 16-year-old girl from the inner city whose pregnant with her second child, is behind in school (she's still in junior high), and has suffered abuse from her parents. Luckily she gets support from an alternate education teacher, a social service worker, and a male nurse.

It's a powerful story with a wonderful direction from Lee Daniels and outstanding performances from everyone involved. Hopefully everyone will be rewarded during awards season. Although it has already been snubbed by the National Board of Review. That was a poor decision in their part.
