Filming In Cambridge Recreates Days of Horse and Buggy

The City of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada is all a buzz as just moments ago a film crew began shooting footage to use for the second season of "The Murdoch Mysteries". Hundreds of people blew into town to support production of the television show. The location manager selected Cambridge among a select few of Ontario locations for filming the very popular television series.

Set in 1895 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Murdoch Mysteries explore the intriguing world of William Murdoch, a handsome young detective who uses "unconventional" forensic techniques, like fingerprinting and trace evidence, to solve some of the City's most challenging crimes. Though his innovative approach elicits ridicule from fellow officers and skepticism from his boss, Murdoch is often the only one who can crack the case. The second season of the Murdoch Mysteries will begin airing late in 2008.

Known for its European flare, the filming location in downtown Galt is one of three core areas in the City of Cambridge. The city has been selected by location managers world-wide as it is cost effective, vibrant and offers a diversity of visual opportunities.
