Liam Neeson was working on Chloe, acclaimed Canadian director Atom Egoyan's adaptation of the French film Nathalie when he received news of wife Natasaha Richardson's tragic skiing accident in Quebec.

Neeson immediately left the Toronto set of Chloe to be by his wife's side as the family struggled to come to grips with her sudden and rapidly deteriorating condition

Now that Natasha Richardson has died, filming is on hold and it remains unclear if Neeson intends to return to Atom Egoyan's latest project.

Speaking of whom, Natasha's great love -- her too-tall, wit-matching, movie-star husband--immediately flew from Toronto, where's he's been shooting Atom Egoyan's Chloe, to be by his wife's bedside in Montreal.

Chloe is a thriller focused on the darker side of human interaction; infidelity, mistrust and deception.  After losing his wife, and often declared soul mate, under such tragic circumstances Liam Neeson may be unable to return to such an emotionally draining project.

"Chloe," director Atom Egoyan's remake of the French thriller "Nathalie ..."

The story centers on a married woman (Julianne Moore) who hires a prostitute (Amanda Seyfried) to find out whether her husband (Liam Neeson) is cheating on her. The prostitute, however, cons her about the nature of her husband's fidelity, a move that puts the family in jeopardy.

Co-star Julianne Moore and director Atom Egoyan are not speaking about the future of the project choosing instead to respect the memory of Natasha Richardson, the beloved wife of a colleague and an acclaimed member of the film world.

Filming will continue without Neeson for the time being.  It is too soon to say whether Neeson will drop out of Chloe and it is certainly the last thing on anybody's mind.

"'Chloe' will continue with its production schedule focusing on scenes which feature other cast members," the publicist for the film said in a statement to "Entertainment Tonight." "There are some scenes with Liam Neeson which have not been completed, however, we do not feel this is the time to address that matter. Our concern is for Liam and his family at this difficult time."

Liam needs something to keep his mind off the tragic loss of his beloved Natasha. The best thing he could do is to carry on filming.
