After Over 50 Years on Television, CBS Will Air Their Final Episode of As the World Turns on September 17
As the World Turns has been a part of the lineup on CBS since April 1956, but on September 17 2010 fans will have to say goodbye as the final episode ever airs.
Over the years many famous faces have launched their career on this soap, including Julianne Moore, Martin Sheen, Parker Posey and Emmy Rossum.
The View"-inspired chat show "The Talk" will replace the departing soap opera, but it won't soon be soon forgotten by fans.
The show won numerous awards over the years and was a favorite for many daytime-tv watchers, but with ratings slipping and people losing interest it was time to end the show before it fizzled out completely.
t the time of its final broadcast, the series will have spanned 54 years and more than 13,000 episodes. "It's extremely difficult to say good-bye to a long-running series that's been close to our hearts for so long," said Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime Programming.
