Fine art from the hood – America’s source for creative works
Collector and investor
America has a history of artisans producing extraordinary work even in the worst economic times such as now. Artists and potters labor for thousands of hours producing what lawyers call “intellectual property,” and what appreciators call fine art. In the end, they sell their work and often don't recover their cost in labor. When they are gone, someone has their work hanging on a wall or sitting on a shelf where people inquire, “From where did that come? Who was the artist? That is just amazing?”
Here are pictures of some artists from Arlington County Virginia sharing the product of the summer labor. There are truly some wonderful finds here, including those for the collector and investor.
“LEE ARTS CENTER ANNUAL ART & FINE CRAFT SHOW AND SALE
Fine Pottery, Sculpture, Prints, and Jewelry by Regional Artists
Nov. 12-13
Lee Arts CenterLooking for some one-of-a-kind gifts this holiday season? The studio artists of Arlington's LEE ARTS CENTER will hold their Annual Fine Crafts Show and Sale on Saturday and Sunday (10:00am – 4:00pm on Saturday and 12:00pm – 4:00pm on Sunday), November 12 and 13, at the Lee Arts Center, 5722 Lee Highway in Arlington, Virginia. Some of our regions finest artists work out of Arlington's Lee Arts Center, a quaint 1920’s elementary school on Lee Highway that, when it was determined too historic to demolish, but too impractical to continue use as a school, was converted for use as a community cultural center by Arlington’s Cultural Affairs Division.”
