Only months after returning to the airwaves after being fired for his Racist Remarks towards players on the Rutgers Womens Basketball Team, Don Imus strikes again. This time, NFL player Pac Man Jones was the target. The following is an exchange between Don Imus and WABC sportscaster, Warner Wolf: (Excerpt provided by crooksandliars.com)

During an on-air conversation Monday about the arrests of suspended Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones, Imus asked, “What color is he?” Told by sports announcer Warner Wolf that Jones, who used to be nicknamed Pacman, is “African-American,” Imus responded: “There you go. Now we know.”

Imus: “What color is he?”

Wolf: “He’s African-American”

Imus: Well, there you go, Now we know.”

Clearly Don Imus is a racist. Anyone who is familiar with the man's history, knows this. What's even more troubling, however, is the fact that racism seems to be tolerated by our major networks. You'll recall WABC hired Don Imus to a multimillion contract knowing full-well of his racist past.

A senior editor of a major political site the other day asked me the following question: Can we move beyond race? I responded, as long as we have major networks rewarding racists, there answer is no.

Imus asked the question knowing that the man was black. He was trying to prove a point that African Americans are responsible for that sort of behavior.

Bob,

Don Imus is a typical shock jock. He trys to get a rise out of ALL segments of his audience. If you listened to him long enough, you would know that Imus is against racial profiling. Do you know about his ranch in Texas? No race requirments there. What about his work with S.I.D.S. ? Major group who suffer from SIDS, African-Americans. Come on Bob, you know the deal in radio. Get a rise, charge your audience, take the opposing side. Imus said to day that he was misunderstood. Why would he agree that he made inapproriate remarks to the Girls at Rutgers and denie this? I am not an Imus fan because of the stero types of everyone. He and Howard both are on my bad list. When I was in radio, this would not stand.

You have the ability to hear Imus everyday in your neck of the woods. I don't. Just thought I would fill in the comments with some of what Imus does to help all races.

Imus said he was misunderstood, but I don't think so. It is very wrong to say what he said. He could have handeled the thing differently. He needs to think before he opens his big mouth. I think that he is racist.

If he really felt that the guy was being picked on due to his race, he should have said it that way.

He owes an apology, and he needs to be harshly punished for what he said.

You would have to believe that Imus has been misunderstood for 20 years.

Sharpton is now on the case.

When is enough, enough? How many more apologies does a racist have to make before he is taken off the air for good.

Imus is definitely a jack-ass but the bigger problem then him mouthing off is all the people that listen to him mouthing off. If everyone voted with their channel-changer, he'd be off the air in five minutes. As long as he pulls numbers, he'll pull sponsors, and, as long as he pulls sponsors, somebody will put him on the air.
