I am just back from the Madach Theatre (Hungary, Budapest). It's been 25 years since the first Cats show and at the anniversary show they have called on stage a lot of actors who previously played the roles. You should know that the Hungarian Cats is a bit different from the Broadway/London show, it's a little bit less dancing and a bit more acting. Some of the Immortal Actors (we have a society called that) were present.
As the director of the theatre said "we stopped counting the shows at 1200 and now we count decades. This is the 25th anniversary but we will be here on the 50th, the 75th and the 100th too. To prove that we will be able to continue, I am calling our students on stage". The theatre explodes with clapping as the little kids appear on stage masked as cats and start dancing.
When the whole show was over, I have learned what it means in real life "standing ovation".
