First gay weddings at West Point Military Academy

The first same sex wedding has happened at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y. Actually, it is now two weddings because the first was recently at the Old Cadet Chapel, and the wedding between Penelope Gnesin and Brenda Sue Fulton is at the newer Cadet Chapel. Fulton was part of the first West Point Class to include women, in 1980. So it is no surprise that she would be part of a new first.

Of course those who are opposed to basic equality for gays and lesbians in the U.S. are angry about this fact. They will lose because more and more Americans are now supporting and celebrating the equal treatment of their families, friends, co-workers and fellow citizens who happen to be gay, when it comes to marriage.
