First Barack Obama posts his election night photos on Flickr, and now Flickr members have a message for him.

Ranging from advice like 'Go for real change' and 'Please don't buy your children a dog - rescue one', it seems like everyone wants the latest President to hear what they have to say, and help change their country for the better.

Wonder if Obama is reading these?

He just might be, Obama said that he is going to get a rescue dog now instead of a golden doodle.

I thought about what my message would be, and I came to realize that by him being elected, my faith in mankind was rekindled, and it made me feel hopeful as I look forward toward the next 4 years.

Dear Mr. President-Elect:

You have committed to us, now it is our turn.

I will volunteer in my community.
I will speak up.
I will extend my hand.
I might even hug a Republican.
(We are ALL Americans).

Blogged here.

I am in San Francisco, and watched Obama win with a large crowd, who kept cheering everytime he was projected the winner, even before the actual win. After he won, strangers hugged eachother, people danced in the table..it was a moment of joy and togetherness never felt before..on the way back home, people were lined up in the streets clapping, hugging, cars were honking horns..just to say, " We did it". I felt like we were the soccer team in the world cup final, and suddenly we have won.

I thank Obama for bringing us all immigrants, different races, religion together once and for all. It feels so good to be in America and I am proud of it.

I saw the "A Message for Obama" group on FLickr earlier in the day, second time tround I thought I would post to it. no stranger to self-portraits, I decided to write something on my hand. But stuff like "Congratulations" seemed a bit obvious, so I thought about it... for like half a second, then this idea popped into my mind. Save the Cheerleader, Save the World!

Of course it's from heroes, but what does it mean???

Well, I kinda think it is a Zen Koan the way it struck me, so I guess you just need to contemplate he message and see what it says to you...

This is my message for Mr. Obama: THANK YOU.

Each day brings about new reasons to cherish this moment in time, and new tears are shed because we've come so far, and have a long, (possibly less difficult), path to travel.

I was always a supporter of Obama..as the Election grew long I begas to become weary of how he woudl approach the major issues the U.S and the world are facing. His word inspire...there is no doubt about that and this is what worries me the most. People in America get there hopes up quick as proven when the housing market skyrocketed. Everyone thought they were going to be rich...this is obviously not the case. His words inspire hope...he now needs to back them up or the U.S. is in a lot of trouble.

I submitted this image because I wanted to convey what was in my heart. There were so many things I could have said like "Congratulations", "I Voted for You", "We Did It!!", or even "Yes We Can!” But what weighed heaviest on my heart and mind was Barack Obama's safety and the safety of his family.

I know that Barack Obama will continue to make headlines, knock down barriers, and change the world. I also know that there are people out there that would risk their freedom and even their own lives to prevent change that includes all people. President Obama will bring change as he has promised, not to just the people who voted for him, not to just Americans, but to the people of the world. I believe that 100%!

I know it's a long shot that President Obama will ever see my message. I doubt he really needs to. But, just in case this message does reach him, I would like him to know my prayers are with him, his family and those whose job it is to keep them safe.

I'm hoping someone on his staff is -- I also hope he doesn't have time to sit around and browse through Flickr. But I do hope our messages get heard -- they're all so well-thought-out and important...

This is a monument to my hope
that we'll be able to withstand
what's about to come.

I think we're going to need a lot
of compassion.

I put this photo on my Flickr account and got a surprising response. Some people hated it and some people loved it. I didn't think it would offend this many people, but apparently it did!

I took this photo of my little brother when he came home to visit after basic training in Maryland. This is my Grandmother asking him what each of his pins and buttons mean.

While Obama was elected, California's anti-gay marriage Proposition 8 passed. Arizona's ban on same-sex marriage passed. Florida's Amendment 2 banning same-sex marriage passed. Arkansas' anti-gay foster parent and adoption measure passed.

I don't actually think Brits have any business messing in US politics, but Obama specifically mentioned gay people in his acceptance speech, while refusing to endorse gay marriage. Failing to do so undermines his commitment to equal rights for all Americans.

Barack Obama, you give me hope. I wanted to remember what I felt the moment you were elected to be our next president. I made this scrapbook page so I can always keep that moment. I know you'll do great things for our country.
