Barrackpore Lok Utsav Kalyan Samity a registered body under society registration act of India has been pioneer in the area of upbringing the new talents of Folk Culture and Folk Music right from her inception.

Last two years they have organized some wonderful cultural program at Sukanto Sadan of Barrackpore, a historically famous place in India as it gets associated with the great Freedom Fighter Mongal Pande the man who started the first freedom struggle of India at this very place.

Barrackpore Lok Utsav Kalyan Samity has also started the similar fight again to uphold the Folk Culture and her best offspring’s in front of the public.

This time 14-16 Dec 2012 they are also organizing the same Show named Ganga Gomati Bramhaputra Lok Utsav representing Bengal, Tripura &Assam but not limited to that only. Many eminent Folk Artist has performed and many will performed in Final Day as well.

When we spoke with Chief Advisor Sri Nupur Biswas, Atul Bharali President, Manik Ahmed Assam Sahitya Sava , Subhasish Saha secretary , Amol  Das Member  and their team with many dedicated soul has been the heart and mind behind this wonderful show.

A Complete package of Folk Culture celebration in 3 days; a small step by a group of people a giant leap for Folk culture movement in India.

We need this kind of more Folk Activities which involves the Artist of grass root and original flavor of Indian grass root songs & music.
