Forbes Magazine released its list of highest-earning celebrities for 2011. Here is a list of the Richest Dead Celebrities For 2011

Our fascination with celebrity often stretches beyond the grave. Some of the most popular performers of our time are, sadly, no longer with us. Forbes Magazine released its list of highest-earning dead celebrities for 2011. The list, which was released on Tuesday, October 24, 2011, lists the 15 dead celebrities who have earned the most over the last 12 months.

Who topped the Forbes list of richest dead celebrities? The King of Pop himself. Michael Jackson was the highest-earning dead celebrity by a wide margin. MJ earned a staggering $170 million over the last 12 months. In second place was Elvis Presley who racked up $55 million.

There were a few surprising names on the list of richest dead celebrities: Theodore Geisel aka Dr. Seuss, composer Richard Rodgers and cult pin-up queen Bettie Page. Also, who knew that Albert Einstein made $10 million a year.

At any rate, here is the list of Forbes Top 15 richest dead celebrities for 2011

3. Marilyn Monroe: $27 million
4. Charles Schultz creator of Peanuts $25 million
