Yes, there is a Forks, WA. There is actually a Newton's sporting goods (actually it's a hardware store but in a small town it serves both functions). And it doesn't always have rain and fog, though it does get a lot.

We visited Forks as part of a trip around the Olympic Peninsula. Being able to see the town brought the characters and imagery into sharper focus. Purchased a copy of "Breaking Dawn" at the Forks Pharmacy for my daughter.
