Found not guilty, but still have arrest record
Do you know that if you were acquitted of a crime and not found guilty, you have no right to have the arrest record of that alleged crime, expunged or sealed? So, prospects with a future employer would be harmed by a crime that your fellow citizens did not convict you. Or, even if a grand jury didn't even indict you. In the court case United States v. Lin, a federal appeals court stated in its' majority decision that , ""acquittal, standing alone, is not in itself sufficient to warrant an expunction of an arrest record." This is effectively punishment for a crime that one did not get convicted.
Indeed, people who have been a victim of domestic violence have been arrested (along with abuser) after suffering abuse, while police are staightening out what happened. So, you might not get a job beause of being battered. Also of course, employers rely upon faulty records that show someone with a similiar name was convicted of a crime.
Arrest records should be sealed unless someone is convicted of a crime and if they are later acquitted such as a new trial etc, they should have the conviction expunged.

Acquitted? My trumped up entrapment "case" didn't even get to the trial stage, and I STILL have an arrest record. This journalist was assaulted in June 2009 by Falls Township, Bucks County police, falsely arrested, shackled, placed in a torturous "stress position," left in the back seat of a squad car in a penned-in cop station yard and then falsely imprisoned. I was never read my Miranda rights and these thug cops denied me the right to make a phone call. The charge of misdemeanor "stalking" -- what was being done to ME just before this blatant police abuse of power -- was summarily dismissed when the police failed to produce a complainant. (My attorney tried to convince me to plead no contest, which would have put me on legal probation, an even bigger stain on my reputation; this is how the legal profession routinely aids and abets the persecution matrix.)
This incident, I believe, was a criminal conspiracy intended to defame my reputation and to make me unemployable. The Bucks County District Attorney's office turned a blind eye when I personally demanded a police misconduct investigation. The FBI also did not launch a formal investigation despite my pleas, to my knowledge.
The mid-Atlantic MAGLOCLEN-RISS fusion center and Lockheed Martin, the contractor that coordinates the communications of vigilante community policing "gangstalkers" nationwide, have corrupted law enforcement and security agencies within its region, making a mockery of the rule of law. In my opinion, MAGLOCLEN is a fascist, quasi-governmental criminal syndicate posing as a law enforcement agency and has usurped the authority of local police chiefs (most of whom seem to not care, or refuse to challenge its illegitimate authority). Law enforcement has been corrupted by this fusion center Gestapo, whose mid-Atlantic branch is based in Bucks County, PA (along with a major Lockheed Martin aerospace facility). I am still waiting for the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Justice Department to make an example of my home county and in so doing, restore the rule of law in America.
This happened when I was 59 years old. Now I'm 61, and no employer would hire me anyway. So I'll just continue to be a one-man, "lone wolf" journalist for justice. Does that make me a "low-level terrorist," MACGLOCLEN/Lockheed Martin fascists?

I is my understanding as long as there is no indictment from a grand jury al information is sealed. If indicted in a grand jury investigation then all the records are made public.

This is exactly what Stalin used to do to anyone who posed a threat to his power -- a public trial, a confession -- and the hayseeds and intellectuals bought it. The US claims moral superiority to the Russians. What a joke. The US has gradually grown into being the new USSR (communism and fascism being two sides of the same coin-- total control of the masses). The US just always had better media spin for its totalitarian excesses.
